If you would like some tips on how to draw a mermaid, have a look at The Guardian's website where I've given a few tips...
Also Macmillan have loads of mermaidy things to do on their website. You can even draw your own fish and see it swimming with my mermaid!
Had a great time at the Cardiff Children's Literature Festival. It was certainly worth the eight hour journey through the snow! Thanks to all the lovely folks who came to see me at Chepstow Library on such a cold day. Great to meet you all, particularly lovely Matt, and family from Chepstow Book Shop!
Then it was on to the National Museum in Cardiff. What a brilliant venue! What a big room! I'm not used to doing big events on my own. I usually have Julia to hide behind! We all had a bit of fun doing some drawings, and I was given so many to take home! Thank you all!
I hope to visit again next year!
Well done to Helen Dunning and co. for a brilliantly run event! And big thanks of course to Lauren from Macmillan for getting me there!

It looks like it is really going to happen! I've known about this for quite a while, but it's only now I've seen the flyer that I truly believe it!
West End producer Kenny Wax has been working on this for a while. On Friday, I got to meet the director Graham Hubbard. I'm so thrilled and honoured to have been asked to contribute. I really didn't expect to be so involved. Our first creative meeting went really well. Everyone is working together to make the show as true to the book as possible. (That's more complicated than you'd think).
It's so exciting having a little taste of the world of theatre. Trouble is - I'll want more!!
Here's the proof - opening in Birmingham Town Hall in December 2014. Then touring.
See you there!

The Museum of Childhood is a great place to find a bit of inspiration. It's full of lovely old toys. I do want to get my hands on the place though. All these well loved, but forgotten toys, hidden behind glass screens and bland signage. I wonder have the V&A forgotten them too. Just imagine what you could do with a great space like that and all those toys! It could be magical.

It's been hard to be positive lately! With a burglary, house move, missed events and parties, and a health scare to round it off, it's been tough! Hopefully, I'll be back on track for the New Year! I have a pile of work waiting for me, which is how I like it!
Meanwhile, you have to accentuate the positive!
